Baked Chocolate Donuts - Keeping On Point (2024)

I always like a little sweet treat in the afternoon. The key for me is keeping it low in SmartPoints.

These donuts were perfect for my craving. I made them with sugar free brownie mix…so they aren’t technically donuts. But they’re cute and taste good!

I sprinkled a little powdered sugar on them so my brain thought I was really indulging. One teaspoon of powdered sugar is very low in points and it goes a long way.

To get the batter into the donut pan I simply took a zip up baggie and put it into a glass. Then I poured the batter into it.

I did half of the batter at a time. Then I zipped it up and cut one of the corners off. It made getting it into the donut pan really easy, and not messy.

The pan I used is also great for making bagels. It helps to keep them in their shape. If you are a fan of the two ingredient dough this pan is great for that.

The recipe makes 12 donuts. If I have leftovers I will pop them in the fridge to make another treat with them.

I like to take half of a donut and break it into bite size pieces. Then I put it in a bowl with strawberries and fat-free Reddi Wip.

It’s a delicious little treat and the only points come from the 1/2 donut.

Course:Breakfast, Dessert

Ingredients

  • 1boxPillsbury sugar free brownie mix
  • 8oz.co*ke Zero or Diet co*ke
  • 2egg whites
  • 2tablespoonspowdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven according to the directions on the box.

  2. In a medium bowl mix together the brownie mix, co*ke Zero and 2 egg whites. I used a whisk to really break up the brownie mix.

  3. Spray the donut pan with nonstick cooking spray. Pour half of the batter into a piping bag or zip lock bag. Add the batter to the donut pan. Mine does 6 donuts at a time.

  4. Cook donuts 16 minutes or until a toothpick is inserted into the donuts and comes out clean.

  5. Let donuts cool 5 minutes. Put powdered sugar into a mesh strainer and sprinkle over the donuts.

  6. Repeat steps 3-5 for the rest of the donuts.

Was I supposed to whip the egg whites and fold them in? My batter ended up super runny and I feel like I’m trying to bake chocolate soup. Fingers crossed something magic happens in the oven… I really want to love this treat. The picture makes it look delicious and I’m afraid I’m doing something wrong.

You don’t need to whip the egg whites. The batter is runnier than regular batter but it should turn out good. I hope they came out good for you!

I have a major sweet tooth, but wasn’t expecting much from these because most diet sweets leave a lot to desire. My batter seemed like a thick soup so I was worried, but they cooked perfectly to a dense cake donut. They are delicious! I followed the recipe to a T. I did not whip egg whites, I used Diet co*ke. Love these and will make these again and again. Thank you for providing a way to satisfy my sweet tooth so I can stick with weight watchers.
