There's a mix of nostalgia and excitement when visiting Hong Kong Disneyland for the very first time. As you step through the gates, you're instantly transported into a world where fairy tales come to life, and childhood dreams take flight. The air is filled with the cheerful melodies of Disney classics, and everywhere you look, there's a splash of color and a sense of wonder that sparks pure joy.

From the futuristic thrills of Tomorrowland to the fascinating sights at Adventureland, Hong Kong Disneyland is a treasure trove of unforgettable experiences. We tried exciting activities (READ: Top Activities at Hong Kong Disneyland's Marvel Season of Super Heroes) and captured countless videos and photos of Disney characters we met.

Amidst all the excitement, we discovered a hidden gem that added a delicious twist to our adventure: the Explorer’s Club Restaurant. Tucked away in Mystic Point, this restaurant is a haven for foodies and adventurers alike. It’s inspired by beloved Disney character, Lord Henry Mystic, the well-traveled globetrotter and Lord of Mystic Manor.

Lord Henry built his club to resemble five of the countries that he admired the most: China, India, Russia, Morocco, and Egypt. Apart from enjoying delightful cuisine, guests dining here can also appreciate the decorations all around the restaurant and be immersed in the cultures of other places.

The Explorer’s Club Restaurant offers an eclectic menu that brings together flavors from across the world. Guests will embark on a flavorful discovery in the restaurant’s five themed rooms, all while delving into the stories of Lord Henry Mystic behind the brand-new menu. From savory Asian dishes to aromatic Middle Eastern fare, from hearty Western classics to spicy Indian delights, every bite was a journey in itself.

With its newly upgraded “Explorer’s Semi-Buffet” menu, the restaurant now offers Moroccan cuisine and Italian delicacies infused with the flavors of exotic cultures. With the ingredients from China, India, Russia, Morocco, Egypt etc., the menu’s innovative international dishes will delight guests.

From appetizers, salads, main courses to desserts, every dish reflects cultural influences across the globe, including Russian eggplant Caviar, Egyptian salad, Moroccan Lemon Cake, and more. As guests savor these delights, they’ll feel the spirit of Lord Henry’s adventures and embark on a culinary journey that explores the rich diversity of the world’s cultures.

We sampled an array of dishes and left with our taste buds tingling with delight. Here are some of my top picks from the menu and the stories behind them.

Pan-fried Salmon

From China, Lord Henry Mystic learned all about the unique flavors of cooking with Shaoxing wine, and his team of chefs combined it with soy sauce and ginger to create this novel salmon dish. Served with a soba noodle salad and wok-fried vegetables, it tastes truly incredible.

Spice-crusted Sea Bass

Lord Henry Mystic’s Indian friend once brought him to visit the largest spice market in Calcutta, where hundreds of spices can be enjoyed. The variety amazed him, and he asked his chefs to bring a taste of India to this dish. It’s made using tandoori crushed potato, sea bass, coconut moilee, crunchy okra, and spices.

Moroccan Beef Kebabs

Lord Henry Mystic noticed there was a type of street food everyone loves in Morocco: ground beef and roasted spices shaped into rolls, grilled to perfection.

To bring this mouthwatering Moroccan street food back to Mystic Point, his chefs created beef kebab skewers, served with pita bread, pickled red onions, butter lettuce, a chickpea salad, raita, and chermoula vinaigrette.

Indian Butter Chicken

While in India, Lord Henry Mystic’s friends hosted a lavish welcome dinner for him, which inspired him to bring back the Indian spices to Mystic Point. His chefs have marinated tandoori chicken with cucumber raita and Indian spices, and created a curry sauce with tomatoes, butter sauce and spices. Together with homemade mango chutney, crispy papadum, and biryani rice, these flavors will transport you straight to India.

Enjoy a free flow of appetizers, salads, desserts, and drinks from buffet tables plus your choice of one main course! Explorer’s Club Restaurant is open for lunch at 12:00 NN to 5:45 PM, while dinner time starts at 6:15 PM. Dining time depends on show time of "Momentous Nighttime Spectacular”, please refer to park calendar for details.

Rate is priced at HKD298 for adults and HKD198 for children. To make your experience more memorable. They also offer a special package for Explorer’s Semi-Buffet Dinner with Admission to "Momentous" Special Viewing Area priced at HKD508 for adults and HKD348 for children.
