KANSAS CITY ROYALS — Agreed to terms with LHP Jason Vargas on a four-year contract.

LOS ANGELES ANGELS — Selected the contract of RF Randal Grichuk from Arkansas (TL).

NEW YORK YANKEES — Assigned 2B Corban Joseph outright to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (IL).

TEXAS RANGERS — Promoted Paige Farragut to senior vice president, ticket sales and service.
