All Chainsaw Locations in Fallout 76 (5)

The chainsaw is one of the best auto melee weapons in Fallout 76 due to its fast attack speed. It gets even better if you add the Vampire's legendary weapon effect, which heals you for 2% of your health over 2 seconds when you attack an enemy with your chainsaw. With this and the prop Mods, you'll be near unkillable.

However, finding enough chainsaws, like Pipe Guns, in Appalachia can be difficult. To unlock Mods, you'll need to either scrap them or purchase the plans from vendors, which is costly. Luckily, there are enough locations you can use to create a farming rotation to find enough. Here are all chainsaw locations in Fallout 76 so you can complete your Vampire's chainsaw build.

The Metal Dome is the quickest and easiest location to find a chainsaw in Fallout 76. There are no enemies for you to fight, and it requires light travel to reach. To locate it, head left around the dome from the fast travel point until you reach the other side. Once there, you'll find an entrance to a metal building and will find the chainsaw, a powerful melee weapon, sitting on the ground.

Besides the Metal Dome, here are all chainsaw locations in Fallout 76 to farm more to unlock any Mods you need:

  • The Foundry: There are three chainsaws at this location:
    • Canal: One chainsaw spawns on a shelf close to the weapons workbench.
    • Warehouse: A chainsaw sits on the floor close to the sign that leads you to The Belts.
    • Twin Cauldrons: Head to the light blue room to find a chainsaw on a shelf.
  • Crimson Prospect: Venture to the southwest of the bus, and you'll discover a chainsaw resting on the bottom shelf of a sturdy metal rack.
  • Ingram Mansion: In the west outside area of Ingram Mansion, a chainsaw sits on a wooden plank atop two barrels.
  • Middle Mountain Pitstop: Look for the tool shed in the southwest portion of this area. You'll find the tool shed between the Boozin Brahmin and the general store buildings.
  • Mountainside Bed and Breakfast: You can find a chainsaw in the basem*nt of this location, but if you complete the Cannibals side quest, you will be locked out. However, you can perform the photo mode glitch to get yourself inside. To do so, enter photo mode and move against the locked door until you glitch inside the room. Once inside, the only way to leave is by fast traveling.
  • Pleasant Valley Cabins: Once you arrive at this location, head west to the cliffs. You'll find a chainsaw sitting under a large tree.
  • Poseidon Energy Plant WV-06: A chainsaw can spawn on a table next to a grill in the South Expansion area. You'll need to head to the upper area using the broken pipes.
  • Ranger District Office: You'll find a chainsaw inside the bar across from the cages.

If you need to find more after visiting all chainsaw locations in Fallout 76, you can jump to another server or fill your item table to respawn items in your current world. You can jump to another server by exiting to the main menu and joining a public server. You can fill your item table by collecting 251 books at the house in Summersville (any items work). Doing so will allow you to find enough chainsaws to scrap to unlock more weapon mods.
