LAND OF WAVES
“Lord 4th, a message was just encrypted by Kakshi. Zabuza of the 7 mist swordsmen has been spotted in a nearby village where Kakashi and his team were sent on a C rank mission. The report indicates that the employer lied about details to acquire a cheaper price. Should we send his team back?” The anbu soldier asked. Minato became overwhelmed with panic for a brief moment. His son Naruto had recently become a genin and joined team 7. Minato knew Naruto couldn’t survive a fight with one of the 7 swordsmen of the mist and took drastic measures to save him.
“Bring me Itachi.” Minato orders the Anbu soldier. In what felt like eternity for Minato, Itachi teleported into his office within half a minute of hearing the news that his kid brother was in danger.
“I heard everything lord 4th, what are your orders?” Itachi asked while fear rushed down his spine.
“Zabuza has been speculated to be working with the Akatsuki, I need you to bring me Zabuza to Konoha dead or alive. I also request that you bring team 7 back to the leaf safe and alive.” Minato told Itachi as the Uchiha rushed towards Kakashi’s last known location.
BRIDGE FIGHT
In the land of waves, Team 7 fights against the kingpin’s mercenary army and Haku, and Zabuta.
“Wind style, tornado blast jutsu.” Kakashi unleashed a chakra shock wave that knocked a dozen fighters miles away. Meanwhile Haku goes into to strike Sasuke and Naruto with Zabuta.
“Multi shadow clone jutsu, rasengan barrage.” Naruto used his shadow clone to release 100 rasengans onto the merc ships.
“Fire style, fireball jutsu.” Sasuke unleashed his chakra fireball to melt away the ice construct that was holding him in place.
“Earth style, massive mud wall. Water style, water spout jutsu.” Sakura unleashed a water cannon that created a landslide out of the 30 foot mud wall in order to stop gang members from reaching the nearby village.
“I impressed Kakashi, your more skilled than I originally thought, and your pupils gave the simpletons quite the fight, but I’m done toying with you.” Zabuza declared as he stabbed Kakashi through the chest.
(So much for the great copy ninja of Konoha.) Zabuza thought until he noticed nothing but fog.
“A swordsman should never let their guard down in the middle of combat Zabuza. You should know that more than anyone.” A mysterious voice echoed as the swordsman saw his men disappear.
(What the hell is going on. Was that a shadow clone I killed? No, shadow clones don’t bleed out after a strike like that. I’m in a genjutsu.) Zabuza thought as he raised his hand. His superiors taught him how to escape a genjutsu years ago.
“That won’t work here, Zabuza. Your heart is a cold reminder of what you once were. Once one of the most powerful and respected shinobi of the Mist, now a petty thief working for a crime boss. How you have fallen.” The voice whispered in Zabuza’s ear while the sky bleed. Zabuza realized that this wasn’t Kakashi or his students' genjutsu.
“I heard about this type of genjutsu from survivors of the 3rd great ninja war. When you see the world crumbling before you and your worst fears come to life, you have been faced with an Uchiha. You use your eyes to trap those in your reality, I now know how to beat you.” Zabuza said as he closed his eyes and stabbed himself. He found himself back on the bridge where Kakashi was fighting Haku. Zabuza quickly closed his eyes in fear of the Uchiha using their genjutsu eyes, that was until he heard…… That crow.
“I-I-I-I- I heard the rumors about a young Uchiha who single handedly killed Yagura the former 3 tails jinchuuriki also known as the 4th mizukage of the mist. You were the one who defeated Fugaku Uchiha and 5 other mangekyō sharingan users in the Uchiha Incident. You're the king of genjutsu and the supposed reincarnation of Madara Uchiha. The tailed beast killer, Itachi Uchiha.” Zabuza said as he remembered the feats of Itachi.
“Tell me, how long have you been in contact with the Akatsuki? How many of the mist’s swordsmen are allied with them? Finally, what are their plans for the land of Waves?” Itachi asked the terrified swordsmen who was desperately trying to reach his sword.
“Me and Kisame were the only ones who survived the 3rd great ninja war after Might Dai unleashed the gate of death. Last I heard Kisame went to the hidden Rain village to work as a mercenary. The Akatsuki just pay me to kill feudal lords and recruit chakra sensitive people to their army. They never tell me anything about base locations.” Zabuza swared as he felt his heart pound with every second that passed until regained composure and began to strike.
“Water style, wild wave .” Zabuza released the force of a waterfall upon Itachi.
“Amaterasu” Itachi infused his sword with the mangekyō sharingan’s flame. “Fire style fireball jutsu.” Itachi quickly countered the massive waterfall construct as the contact turned both projectiles into mist. In the Uchiha clan, each branch has a different technique for the mangekyō sharingan. Itachi’s branch has the eternal black flame. Shisui’s branch has Kotoamatsukami which is the strongest genjutsu type.
“Enough mind games Uchiha, I want to go down how a swordsman should in single combat. Sword skills will be the only factor of victory!” Zabuza shouted out as Kakashi took out Haku’s ice prism.
“I accept these terms Zabuza, I send you to Yagura in hell.” Itachi vowed as the two clashed.Although Zabuza possessed more raw strength and experience in combat, he couldn’t match Itachi’s speed and strategic mind.
(Damn it, every time I try to use a self made jutsu, he just copies it faster than I can use it. No, I’ve killed an Uchiha before, if I can land a powerful attack from below then he won’t be able to counter in time, I just need to use a majority of my chakra to pull it off. I’ll have to rely on Haku to deal with Kakashi but it’s worth the risk.) Zabuza thought as he drained all his strength in on attack.
“Water style, upward tsunami jutsu.” A massive geyser of water burst under Itachi and burst a massive hole through the sky, killing the bystanding raiders who were all that were left after Kakashi and his team defeated Haku.
“hahaHAHAHAHA! I KILLED HIM! SO MUCH FOR THE STRONGEST BUCHIHA IN 100 YEARS! YOUR NOTHING COMPARED TO ONE OF THE 7 SWORDSMEN OF THE—- agah!” Zabuza’s rant came to a deadly silence when an orange perfect susanoo.
As Zabuza bleed to death, Kakashi and his team stood in silent shock.
(That’s Sasuke’s brother? I heard he was strong but I’d never imagine anyone could have power like that.) Sakura thought as she healed Sasuke’s wounds caused by Haku.
(So that’s the final form of the susanoo. Itachi told me how it awakened while fighting the 3rd tailed beast. My eyes are only at the 3rd stage for now.) Sasuke thought while the remaining raiders surrendered in fear.
Naruto: (Awesome.)
Kakashi: ( to believe he killed a tailed beast host at the age of 17.)
AFTERMATH
As everyone recovered back at Konoha, Minato went to ask Itachi about any info gathered on the Akatsuki.
“Zabuza had no knowledge about the Akatsuki organization or their leader's location. He seemed to be only a sword for hire to kill nobles and collect chakra sensitive citizens to recruit into the terror group. The ice user didn’t have any info either.” Itachi reported to the yellow flash.
“I see. You should know that the Sound village has been approved by the feudal lords to participate in next month’s Chunin exams. We must use this opportunity to learn as much about the Sound village as possible.” Minato stated as he began to walk out until Itachi spoke up.
“Sir, I saw your child break through the ice user's ice prism using shadow clones carrying a dozen rasengan. I can confirm for a genie his skills are impressive.” Itachi stated as Minato bowed and teleported to the Hokage office where he smiled.
“YEAH! THAT’S MY BOY!” Minato shouted in happiness as the council members got annoyed by Minato’s shouting interrupting the annual board meeting.
